While Rogan is well-known for our high-quality plastic molded knobs, we also provide expert custom molding services for a wide range of industries.

Our team of experts will recommend options to meet your requirements, whatever the application. Whether you need an engineering grade material, custom colors, markings, or any other requirement for your parts, we have the expertise to create exactly what you need. Check out all our injection molding capabilities here.

Molding processes and secondary operations include:

Single-shot molding

Rogan provides precision, custom thermoplastic injection molding solutions through state-of-the-art molding machines and manufacturing cells. Our single-material components are used in a wide range of industries, including medical, consumer products, industrial, appliance, and more.

Two-shot molding

For over 30 years, Rogan has specialized in manufacturing two-shot injection molded components for a variety of industries. Whether to reduce the number of parts (and cost) in your product, adding soft touch material to enhance functionality, or color to promote your brand, two-shot molding adds value in every way. It makes products more user-friendly and attractive while reducing production time and cost.

Overmolding

Overmolding can add value similar to two-shot molding, but one part is set in the mold, and material is overmolded over all or a part of the original piece. This is similar to insert molding. In the example to the left, the comfort of a metal handle is greatly improved by overmolding TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) to the gripping surface.

Insert molding

The process of insert molding uses a premade part—often metal—that is loaded into a mold where a thermoplastic resin is injected over it to create a final component. Insert molding can help eliminate costs, improve part strength and eliminate difficult secondary operations.

Assembly

Our expert team will assemble your plastic components through adhesive, welding, or mechanical construction. Our assembly services can vary according to application requirements, customer needs, product designs, and geometries.

Decorating

Rogan consistently finds new ways to deliver innovative solutions, including providing secondary operations like decorating your custom plastic parts.

If you are unsure of what you need exactly, or if you have any questions about our processes, Rogan is here to help you every step of the way. Contact us today to get started.

Some of the benefits of custom injection molding from Rogan include:

  • Commercial and engineering grade materials and custom colors to meet your part’s requirements.
  • Two-Shot molding is a process where a second color or material type is injected into the mold to produce the completed part. Potential options include a soft TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) molded onto a hard material providing a soft grip.
  • Insert molding allows a thermoplastic resin to be overmolded around a metal part. This can eliminate an assembly operation and also improve part strength.
  • Custom decorations allow a logo or other markings to be added on your component.
  • Press sizes from 20 tons to 300 tons
  • Mold Transfers – Rogan accepts transfer tooling where a new injection molder is needed, or in case additional capacity is required.
